Today we left Melbourne to return to Sydney. All went very smoothly - an Uber to the airport, self check-in and bag drop and then killing time until the flight to Sydney. This time our cabin baggage was weighed at the gate but we were fine. Christmas trees were still up at Melbourne airport!
The flight only took an hour and we were soon back at the Sofitel. Sadly we had just missed afternoon tea but enjoyed a hot drink until it was time for evening drinks and snacks.We were excited to discover that the girl who has served us every evening at this hotel is from Kathmandu in Nepal and we had a lovely chat with her as she plied us with red wine and Baileys - not mixed together!
